Our Mission
NAFIS seeks to help people turn toward God and help others do the same. Its work centers on spiritual purification and education, calling people to God, engagement in society, and collaboration with people of goodwill. The organization emphasizes remembrance of God, repentance, seeking His guidance and mercy, strengthening faith, learning His Names and Attributes, developing noble character, and helping others build a strong relationship with Him. Spiritual growth is pursued through practices rooted in the Qur’an and Sunna, including daily remembrance, supplication, Qur’an study and memorization, study circles, gatherings devoted to prayer and remembrance, spiritual retreats, and educational programs. NAFIS also emphasizes daʿwa through good character, gentleness, patience, respect, flexibility, and sincere example. NAFIS understands guidance as ultimately belonging to God. It seeks to practice Islam faithfully while responding to the realities of contemporary life, combining spiritual development with active concern for justice, service, cooperation, and the well-being of society.
Our Vision
NAFIS aims to build communities that help people progress toward nearness to God through spiritual purification, education, companionship, service, and engagement with society. The organization seeks to preserve the spiritual inheritance of Islam while reconnecting it with the Prophetic concern for social, political, and economic justice. The NAFIS approach treats the different parts of life as an integrated whole. Worship, family, education, work, service, community, and civic responsibility are not separated from one another. Every person can contribute to the mission through their role, skills, and responsibilities.
